Project Objective
To exhibit a strong understanding of typographic marks, and create a unique brand system comprised primarily of type. Designs should visually capture the flavor of the brand you are describing. You will create a group of deliverables that will all be branded with this system. Each element should feel unique, but part of a cohesive brand identity, through the use of type, color, and layout. Avoid overly repetitive solutions where each element is an exact copy, and strive for designs that are uniquely different, yet connected across the group.
Important Note
We each drew two letters and an industry blindly out of a hat, and that's what we based our brand project on. In my case, I drew the letters O, and P, and the makeup industry. So I came up with Opulent Purity.
Project Requirements
- Create a group of at least 6 deliverables that are all designed using your brand. This should include 1) a business card 2) letterhead 3) an envelope. The remaining three or more items are of your choosing. Please use typefaces from the list below.
- Designs should consist of 2 or 3 randomly selected letterforms chosen in class, combined to create a typographic mark, with supporting typography to denote the required information: full name, address, email address, phone number, and website. All information can be made up to represent a brand and vision of your choice, based on the specific constraints chosen in class.

My Intent With My Product Branding...
I was looking to establish a strong and memorable brand identity for our makeup company, which embodies qualities of cuteness, minimalism, luxury, organic ingredients, and modernity. I aimed to convey a sense of sophistication while maintaining a natural and approachable aesthetic. The brand’s core message is to celebrate the beauty of simplicity and the use of organic, high-quality ingredients in our makeup products. Typography served as the primary visual element to communicate these qualities.
My target audience includes beauty-conscious individuals of various age groups who appreciate premium, cruelty-free, and organic makeup products. They have a taste for modern design and are drawn to brands that convey both luxury and purity. I hoped to draw inspiration from cosmetic brands known for their minimal, chic, and organic approach to design. Additionally, I wanted to explore modern design trends and consider how they can be infused with a touch of cuteness. Typography was the central focus of the brand identity. It intended to strike a balance between cute and minimal while exuding a luxurious and modern feel. Its usage should be versatile enough to work on packaging, marketing materials, and other physical deliverables.
The brand utilized a color palette that incorporates soft, pastel colors to evoke a sense of cuteness and a feeling of organic, natural beauty. Add one or two luxurious accent colors for a touch of sophistication.
