


For our last project of the semester (Fall 2023), we were assigned to create branding for a custom three-day event called the “Dream Festival.” The main objective of the project was to demonstrate our proficiency in typographic grids, typographic hierarchy, layout design for a sequential multi-page document, and creating both print and digital deliverables as part of a larger visual system. During the design process, we had to come up with multiple creative solutions for the content while ensuring that the organization of complex information was done cohesively. The aim was to communicate our ideas effectively and achieve the overall aesthetic goal.
I designed a multi-page sequential layout brochure, poster, and visual system for the “Whistle Stop” Railroad Festival. This event will immerse attendees in the world of trains, featuring train layouts, memorable train rides, and model train sales. The visual identity I designed plays a vital role in promoting the festival and enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
My intended goal was to attract railroad enthusiasts, families, and collectors. I intended to develop a visually captivating and harmonious identity that conveys the essence of the train festival, which includes train rides, history, model layouts, and model train sales. Through my design decisions, I will generate interest and anticipation among potential festival attendees. I also created a flexible visual system that can be consistently applied across various festival materials, including posters, brochures, tickets, banners, programs, merchandise, and digital platforms. While developing a visual system that incorporates an intriguing color palette, typography choices, and a set of icons or graphics related to trains. That can be applied to the visual system of various festival materials in print and digital formats.
My design decisions were crucial in conveying the three-day festival, which focuses on the rich heritage of American railroads and features train layouts, rides, and model train sales.
